Hi, I’m Lars Wilms and I’m a self taught sound designer and composer from the Netherlands with a keen eye (and ear) for detail. I started out in audio making music in Ableton Live on my own time as a teenager in 2009. In 2013 friends of mine who started animation studio RJB Visuals (now known as Visual Lab) needed audio for a project, so they asked me. I immediately thought it was so cool, thinking back to all the sound design behind the scenes features I loved watching growing up (especially the Ben Burt Star Wars and WALL-E ones). I’ve been Visual Lab’s audio guy ever since doing various projects from time to time. During this time I’ve also worked on games with friends and taught myself about game audio and FMOD for Unity and Unreal. Then in December 2021 I decided to start a ‘one-man business’ registered as larje100.
I feel I’ve now been improving fast doing more work for Visual Lab as well as making sound redesigns. I’m super excited about experimenting with new techniques and ever improving my workflow.

Sidenote: larje100 is from a typo in my first ever email adress, which stuck and turned into a nickname.

Ableton Live
AKG K550
KRK Rokit 6
YAMAHA Pocketrack PR7 w/ Gutmann windscreen
Behringer XM8500

1. Ableton Live.
2. AKG K550 for most of the mixing.
3. KRK Rokit 6 monitors for checking how it’ll sound in a room.
4. YAMAHA Pocketrak PR7 w/ Gutmann windscreen for Foley and field recordings.
5. Behringer XM8500 for recording voice.
6. AKAI MPK mini MK3 midi controller.

With a largely in-the-box workflow, these tools are everything I need to tackle any project as well as add to an ever-expanding personal sample library.
